ET TU, NIGERIA?

Author C. JoyBell C once quoted that – "Do not let a thief into your house three times. The first time was enough. The second time was a chance. The third time means you are stupid."

In 2023, first it was in Kenya, then in Rwanda and now in Nigeria but we intend to believe that there shouldn't be any comparability with the quote and the 3 events.

Of course, when a Betting Company DAFABET acts as a main investor cum sponsor by getting involved to promote Cricket in handpicked host countries in Africa for insignificant associate member tournaments; either we should applaud for such noble initiative or will be very curious to know why such big sacrifices are made to benefit the poor associate members. Pure and rare Samaritan act or something else unknow to us?

Let us analyze and seek for answers to some virtuous questions related latest Nigeria West Africa Trophy tournament.

1. As per ICC Membership list, West Africa is having 7 member Countries. They are Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. In this DAFABET & Dreamcatcher partnership with Nigeria as host only 2 other Countries from West Africa are playing - Ghana and Sierra Leone. Surprisingly Rwanda from long distance East Africa and an old acquaintance of DAFABET is also playing in the West Africa tournament. Why cherry-picking by DAFABET & DREAMCATCHERS? Why 4 west African countries were not invited to play if financing is done by DAFABET & Dreamcatchers?

2. There are no known TV Broadcasting & Commercial accord rights of the West Africa Trophy, as there are no global or Regional TV broadcasting are available for spectators. Then what are the source of main revenues to conduct the tournament? Are all  donated by DAFABET & DREAMCATCHERS or NIGERIA Cricket body?

3. Does DAFABET got any business relation as the utilizer of MAHADEV Cricket Betting App and its owners Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal from Dubai? Because right now a big money laundering case is being investigated by Indian Agencies.

4. Does DAFABET operates with online book Cricket betting app where new user clients register with newly created ID and engage through CONVULATED network of undisclosed bank account?

5. CMV – Corcom Media Venture with temporarily closed / nonoperational Mumbai office, shifted all its activities to Dubai and also  having commercial rights with ACA – Africa Cricket Association, a regional Cricket body, exclusively for Africa Cup 2023, is very much commercially active on its virtual medias to promote Rwanda Tournament in the recent past and now Nigeria tournament.  There is nothing wrong in its business prospective except that all commercial news on Nigeria West Africa Tournament is published jointly with ACA – Africa Cricket Association Symbol which proves that DAFABET, Dreamcatchers, Corcom Media Ventures and ACA - Africa Cricket Association all are promoting and directly involved in Nigeria West Africa Trophy with just 3 west African nations. Unfortunately, we have confirmed news from a reliable source that ACA does not have any agreement with CORCOM Media other than Africa Cup, much less on East or West Africa Cup where ACA can be spotlighted as the partner(?) of CORCOM Media on their virtual medias. Then why is it practiced? Is/are somebody from ACA maliciously involved with DAFABET via CORCOM media for unknown personal interest?

CORCOM media and the betting company DAFABET were commercial partners in ACA T20 Africa Cup, in September 2022 in South Africa.

6. It is believed that a partner to a thief hates his own soul; he receives oath but does not testify.  We failed to understand why after a written official Complain on Violation of ICC Anti-Corruption Code, reported to the Chairman of Nigeria Cricket Federation on 7th October 2023, was not reported to ICC – ACU till date? (Please see the attached written Complain)

7. Why Chairman of Nigeria Cricket Federation failed to disclose to the ICC – ACU about the reported incidents, facts and the matters came to his knowledge?

8. Why was the Chairman of Nigeria Cricket Federation obstructing and delaying the investigation by taking initiative to sweep the incidents under the carpet?

9. Players allegedly involved in corruption are from Ghana, and the Chairman of Ghana is also the Chairman of Africa Cricket Association, therefore what steps Chairman of Ghana / Chairman of ACA taken once it was disclosed to him? Has he reported to ICC ACU or also did not take any initiative and failed to follow the ICC Anti-Corruption Code?

10. Can it be that the complaint and action by NCF Chairman is not a defense mechanism used to displace responsibility of one’s negative behavior and traits by attributing them to someone else?

11. We believe narcissistic rage does not result from low self-esteem but rather high sense of entitlement and false sense of superiority, hence cant there be possibilities of hiding behind corrupt project and false sense of superiority as the sponsors and host Nigeria Cricket Federation, to play the narcissistic blame-shifting game to achieve what they are looking for?
